Has anyone here repainted their brake calipers? 2003 Evos were notorious for pealing clear coat. Mine lasted longer than most, but it is time.

Pealing clear coat? I believe that rings true.

Colored brake calipers add like 20 hp so you should really repaint it.

I did mine on my old evo. Suck it up and drain the brake fluid and (if you have the funds) swap in some stainless braided lines.

It was an awesome decision. Brake fade lap after lap was non existent after.

I've never found colored brake calipers to be appealing.

A buddy of mine did the calipers on his Evo X and they came out great. I can't remember if he actually painted them or just re-did the clear coat.

I will advise the Italians at Brembo of your opinion. The car came with them painted. I just would like to get them back to looking ok. Right now they are splotchy red and pink

While you're in there you may want to sand off that rust on the rotor and paint that up too.

Red is a color that stands out. However, it is generally the most photosensitive of all colors as the pigments that create red are most likely to fade in sunlight.

I've done it twice. Three coats of Rust Oulem will do. The sucky part is sanding those sons of bitches down and covering the suspension/disks/etc so you don't stain them.
